108 CALLS IT QUITS FOR THE SECOND TIME

A statement from vocalist Rob Fish can be found here and one from Vic here.

108 confirmed earlier today that they have indeed thrown in the towel. Last night, the band made a post on their Facebook page that read simply "108 has died" and later on "their [sic] MIGHT be a 'bye-bye' show sometime. That will be it.

"Unfortunate news since Deathwish was set to release (and still will, most likely) the new record, 18.61, on April 13. The band had planned to do a few small tours in support of the record, but obviously that's off the table now.

This is the second time the band has broken up. They reunited around 2005 and released the album A New Beat From A Dead Heart in 2007 and toured sporadically after that. 18.61 has, reportedly, been finished for nearly a year but Deathwish only recently added it to the release schedule.

BANKROBBER TOUR

"So hydrogen man is putting out a tape for us, I believe it will come with a download card too. We recorded 3 songs live, no tracking, no pro tools, but it is mastered, and it's heavy stuff. I think for a live recording the songs came out great.

Our tour kickoff is Thursday, so I posted the first new song on our myspace today. On Tuesday I will take it down and put up the next. Wednesday I'll put the last song up. Thursday there will be tapes available at our show.

go here and let us know what you think:

SHOW TONIGHT

SICK OF IT ALL: NEW TUNES

As you hopefully already know, seminal New York City hardcore outfit Sick Of It All will release their Century Media Records debut on April 20th. Their first new release in four years, the effort is titled "Based On A True Story" and we have obtained a track from the album to exclusively unveil today. The song is called "Death or Jail" and Sick Of It All drummer Armand Majidi has provided the following background:

"We wrote the song 'Death or Jail (based on a true story)' about friends of ours that broke away and ended up following a path that led them to self-destruction or incarceration. We all know people who have made these huge mistakes, and it's a really difficult thing to explain, especially when they come from the same place and common background. They don't just turn their backs on their friends, it's as if they're turning their backs on themselves, shutting themselves into a reality that can offer nothing but stress, violence, and wickedness. Thank goodness we had the outlet of hardcore to help us vent our frustrations, or we all might have found ourselves in a similar place. This song is dedicated to those friends that we wish could have made better choices."

NEW VISION OF DISORDER: ALMOST DONE

Frontman Tim Williams commented on the status of a new Vision Of Disorder album and Scene Point Blank has the quote:

"I wanted to let you guys know that we have managed to write about 19 songs for the new LP. We are gonna pick about 11. The 11 tracks will be pulled apart, re worked and edited. We then will hit the studio and record them bitches straight up and raw. We are gonna do most of the tracks live right then and there. All in the same room spread out in a circle of smoke, brew and burgers… We hope to have it out sometime within the next 6 months."

Hoping it's good.
